Who is "Joe Pilot"?

Ricardo Santos, Flight Instructor
Ricardo Santos fell in love with flying at age 8.  During a family trip to Portugal Santos was lucky enough to go see the flight deck. "When I walked in, the pilot was relaxing in his seat with his feet up eating hershey chocolates... When I asked him how fast we were going he looked over at the gauges and said almost 900 km/h. This captivated me; it was faster than I had ever seen, and I knew I wanted to do it for the rest of my life."

Santos graduated from the aircraft maintenance program at a Toronto area high school and went on to complete his B.A. in history at Carleton University.  In the meantime, he earned his private certificate at 17, commercial at 24 and instructor rating at 26.

When not flying Santos puts in 12 to 16 hour days as a specialized load truck driver.... Driving heavy and oversized loads. He also plays hockey on a men's league, trains in the martial art of Brazilian jui jitsu, and is a hunter/shooting enthusiast.  Summertime often finds him on the road  with his motorcycle.  Santos is in the process of becoming a big brother to a child.
